Enkonduko:
A HEPA filter is defined as a filter capable of capturing **≥99.97% of particles ≥0.3 μm** in size. It serves as the terminal filtration device in pharmaceutical cleanrooms to supply purified air. The ability of a cleanroom to achieve and maintain its designated cleanliness classification depends on the performance and proper installation of HEPA filters. Therefore, conducting integrity testing (leak testing) on HEPA filters is a critical measure to ensure compliance with standards and sustain a controlled clean environment.
The FDA Guidance for Industry: Sterile Drug Products Produced by Aseptic Processing (2004) specifies that leak testing must be performed post-installation to verify the integrity of seals, including gaskets, frames, and filter media. For aseptic manufacturing facilities, periodic integrity testing of HEPA filters is mandatory.
Application:
Pharmaceutical Industry
Used in sterile workshops, Grade A clean zones (e.g., filling lines), raw material preparation, and other processes to prevent cross-contamination.
Electronics & Optics
Ensures ultra-clean environmental standards for semiconductor manufacturing and precision instrument assembly.
Food & Chemical Engineering
Dust control in food processing workshops; explosion prevention and hazardous gas management in chemical production.
Healthcare & Laboratories
Air purification systems for operating rooms, ICU wards, and biosafety laboratories.

HEPA Air Supply Outlet Installation Guidelines:
Pre-Installation Requirements
Ensure the dimensions and filtration efficiency of the HEPA outlet align with the cleanroom design specifications and client standards.
Site Preparation
Thoroughly clean the HEPA outlet and the entire cleanroom before installation.
Remove dust from the HVAC system and clean auxiliary spaces (e.g., ceiling plenums, utility layers).
Run the HVAC system continuously for 12+ hours for preliminary purification, followed by a final cleaning.
Handling & Transportation
Follow the manufacturer’s directional markings during transport.
Handle with care to avoid severe vibrations or impacts that may damage internal components.
Pre-Installation Inspection
Integrity of filter media, sealant, and frame.
Compliance with dimensional specs (edge length, diagonal, thickness).
Surface quality (no burrs or rust on metal frames).
Inspect the outlet for defects:
Verify the product certificate and technical performance against design requirements.
Leak Testing & Balancing
Balance outlets to ensure resistance deviation between filters is **<5%**.
Conduct a leakage test to validate filtration integrity.
For unidirectional airflow systems:
Mandatory for cleanrooms with Class 100 or higher cleanliness.
Sealing & Installation
Seal gaps between the outlet flange and ceiling panel using gasket materials (ensure no air leaks).
DO NOT install units with damaged filters or coatings.
Securely connect the outlet to ductwork, and seal openings with plastic film + adhesive tape for airtightness.
